Site Title: CHRONOS AUTOMOTIVE: Concept vehicle design.
Site Desc.: The Driving force... The satisfaction of absolute power and control. That is the driving force behind Chronos Automotive, the underlying principle of each concept vehicle, carefully sculpted, designed, engineered...The Automobile, in it's finest form, has become so much more than a means of automation, and the evolution of mankind has created machines that are faster, more comfortable, more efficient, more intelligent, more than a machine. Chronos Automotive seeks to make its own mark in the line of evolution, one that encompasses every part of the human process of automotive design to create something that expands again what we see in an automobile, and gives us back some of what we have lost. Power; the force behind the process and something everpresent throught the Chronos universe, not just a means for propulsion and adrenaline but also what it brings, and what it requires. Control; the ability to harness that power through skill and intuition, and use its mastery in the spirit of driving. The spirit; such a rare quality in the automotive world nowadays, something that has been bled out and replaced by electronics, has an underlying vein, a life blood. Performance; in supplying power and control with the very best of supportive and enhancive technology, we create a competetive, accelerated, adrenaline fuelled entity. Functionality; the purpose and direction, the secure knowledge of a vehicle designed for its purpose, and designed well. This is the driving force. When we add the human element, channel it through the vehicle so carefully sculpted to recieve its input, we give the force a vessel of emotions in which to exhibit itself, we evoke what perhaps is the meaning of life. Passion; an envigoration to not only continue, but exceed, a quality that can exist in any part of life and something as neccessary as life itself. Through passion we can truly achieve satisfaction in our efforts. In this case, the satisfaction of absolute power and control. Welcome to the Chronos universe. The driving force is, of course, presented in this series of concept vehicle designs, the evolution of a project to evisage an engineering brief with an emphasis on power, control, performance and functionality, a design brief to create a unique, timeless, characteristic style to the concept, and the drive to create and progress. The goal is tangible results, and one day, by whatever means, A Chronos concept vehicle will be created in the steel, by my own hand if it is to be so. I believe that what makes this design firm different is in its approach to the subject and it's attention to the fundamental reason behind why we should enjoy driving. Cars are becoming faster than ever, but at the same time automakers are taking control of these fast cars away from the driver, a dangerous combination. Whilst many technological advances in auto control are positive, and I enjoy emabracing that technology as many others do, I believe that in many situations the best piece of hardware to handle the job is sitting behind the wheel. Perhaps my reasoning doesn't appeal to everyone on the road; I don't care, a Chronos vehicle will never have cruise control. The aim of giving this control and power back to the driver is to help instigate something of a renaissance of driving and skill, to again promote the pure enjoyment of shifting through the gears and feeling the road through the wheels. The finer engineering of a car is something which many companies today still ignore or misinterpret, yet is the most integral and important part of any car's design. A Chronos vehicle has the exact engine for the job, one with a temperament to suit the applcation and sometimes even a radical or unique feature, and it's chassis, suspension, brakes and tyres are selected with the application and every possible situation in mind. Of course, the general trend noted in these cars both in engineering and appearance, is on performance. As well as the engineering, the overall design and appearance of each concept is one which I believe is unique but recognisable and endearing. Certain concept cars would simply look out of place on the road. A Chronos car is designed to own the road. Large wheels, low slung roofs and flowing, yet well defined lines are the trademark of a Chronos Automotive; a little retro, but cutting edge and ultimately attractive to the eye. Whatever criticisms anyone may have towards this project and my design brief, the ultimate truth is; Chronos Automotive is run by one man, me, absolutely zero funds, and a lot of imagination. Whilst this may limit my progress a little, it offers absolutely no boundaries or restrictions outside my mind and this screen. I wouldn't have it any other way.
