John attended the University of Cincinnati, College of Engineering, from 1973 to 1977. He left UC in 1978 and began working at a BMW service shop that later became a BMW dealership. Not finding the dealership to his liking, John started working for large chemical company as an electronic equipment designer. After four years of service, John went to work full time for himself, doing what he always did for fun, working on cars.
He started Just BlauMitWeiss as an alternative to dealer service in 1981. John's automobile shop services BMW cars and an occasional BMW motorcycle in eastern Cincinnati, Ohio.
He's been an active member of the BMW Car Club since 1976 and still instructs High Performance Driving with them. He's been active in SCCA Club Racing since 1987 and is still racing his BMW 2002 in SCCA and BMW CCA Club events.
