Actually SECO has been around since 1932 when my grandfather opened his business on 20th Street in downtown Birmingham, AL. My dad, John Simmons, while helping his father with the electrical appliance business, began selling racing slicks and t-shirts out of a trailer he hauled to the tracks. It wasn't too many years after that when my dad came to the realization that he was spending 80% of his time on a business that was providing only 20% of his income. My dad's love for racing became his fulltime business and SECO Equipment Company was off and running!
