Classic Cars Connection began with a thought. The thought being how do you eliminate the endless frustrations of selling or buying a classic car. For years now I have worked along side a highly respected and well known classic car dealer and witnessed first hand the endless stream of phone calls from people who never had any intention of buying a car but essentially wasted our valuable time. I asked myself how do I connect those serious buyers with the serious sellers and get rid of those time wasters?.
Over the years I have observed other methods of selling Specialty Cars. One of the most common ways is to use an Auction Company, however there are major costs and time in doing so. Such as purchasing your lot number, arranging and transporting your vehicle to the selected auction, airfare, hotel, rental car and other expenses. Still not guaranteeing that your car will sell. Should your car sell, the auction company collects from you, the seller, a fee that averages between 7 to 15% or more reducing your net proceeds.
In addition, the buyer has similar expenses. such as airfare, hotel expenses, car rental and so on. Should the buyer be lucky enough to find and buy that special car in addition to his high bid there is a buyers fee of 7% to 15%. Increasing their over all cost in addition to arranging and paying for the transportation of said vehicle.
However the most commonly used form is advertising with all the major Motor News publications, websites newspapers and trade magazines. Exposing yourself and phone number to hundreds of thousands of tire kickers calling you all hours of the day to just talk and waste your valuable time.
