Mark Goyette developed his interest in antique cars at an early age.
"We went to a lot of car shows while I was growing up in Bennington. My parents still live here and remain active in the old car hobby." says Mark.
After studying architecture and working as a designer Mark made his hobby his business and started Goyette Restoration in Southern California in 1996.
His first project, a 1932 Daimler Double Six, was a long, challenging restoration. In 1999, at the Daimler’s first showing, Goyette and his team of craftsmen were rewarded with the coveted "Best of Show" at The Pebble Beach Concours de Elegance. "It was a lifelong dream come true," says Goyette.
His other projects have included such rare cars as a 1939 Talbot Lago and a 1957 Maserati 450S. Mark’s personal favorites are the brass-era automobiles (pre-1916).
In the fall of 2001, Mark, his wife Irene and their two sons moved to Bennington. They bought the old stone house on North Bennington Road where Mark has set up his shop.
He is currently working on a 1910 Overland and will soon start on an early Mercedes.
