Japan August new vehicle sales down 5.9 pct year-on-year

Domestic sales of new cars, trucks and buses, excluding mini-vehicles, fell 5.9 pct year-on-year last month to 232,225 vehicles, declining for the 14th straight month, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association said.

Car owners warned over LPG conversions

Motorists have been warned they risk driving unroadworthy and uninsured vehicles if they fail to ensure they use only registered LPG fitters.

Lower tariffs see record automobile imports in July
